SECOND LIFE?!

Hi All.

I guess I'm just going to be babbling on. Yesterday I stumbled across this very 'addictive' site in my lesson, but I'm running out of words to be honest.
So carrying on, Second Life according to wikipedia is..

Second Life is an online virtual world developed by Linden Lab. It was launched on June 23, 2003. A number of free client programs, or Viewers,[1][2] enable Second Life users to interact with each other through avatars (Also called Residents). Residents can explore the world (known as the grid), meet other residents, socialize, participate in individual and group activities, and create and trade virtual property and services with one another. Second Life is intended for people aged 16 and over.[3]
Built into the software is a three-dimensional modeling tool based on simple geometric shapes that allows residents to build virtual objects. There is also a procedural scripting language, Linden Scripting Language, which can be used to add interactivity to objects. Sculpted prims (sculpties), mesh, textures for clothing or other objects, animations, and gestures can be created using external software and imported. The Second Life terms of service provide that users retain copyright for any content they create, and the server and client provide simple digital rights management functions.

I thought of trying it out but I couldn't gather myself into doing it. This is literally like SIM's but more electronic, avatar-ish or what not. But it's very interesting how people treat this more of an um, part that is real within their lives witholding any doubt that it will affect them, who knew it'd be so addicitive?

Well according to a documentary which I researched a little into after watching few clips of it from lesson which is named 'Virtual Adultery and Cyberspace Love' where this woman literally treated her little world with more importance than her own living one. I mean, is it the people's fault or the site's fault?! Like say, her children were being looked after the 'alpha male' which stereotypically means he should be out there working instead of fending after the wifey wife and looking after the children but hell no, he's busy because his God damn wife is being brainwashed by the 'passionate affair' they call it. It's actually so shocking, I mean the Husband should've disowned her to be honest as the affair has been going on for years after years. But, moreover I guess she led by the recognition the 'Second World' made it insinuating that 'it isn't a game, it’s a virtual life fueled by real wants and desires. And for some, when life and love are less than perfect, the escape it offers can be more seductive than the real world' phft! It's quite distraughting to be honest, however considering how it isn't famous anymore or less popular, I guess people were brought back to real life. Yes, REAL LIFE!

Oh my God. What was I even saying? Hope you enjoyed reading that though! Just don't get brainwashed.. (laughing out loud sarcastically)
