Say the Word by Julie Johnson

Say the WordSay the Word by Julie Johnson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"..You have to cherish the insignificant moments you have with your most significant people. To hold onto the times when you're happy. To smile often, and laugh loudly. To enjoy the ones you love, and hold them close to your heart while you still have them."

Holy shit! I'm rendered speechless. Shit. Nothing I expected AT ALL. Julie Johnson is capable of making my heart sing and cry and beating rapidly. I felt it within me. Not my first time reading her work but damn, I was thrown off the loop.
Reading a book without any expectations and having felt the emotions you go through nearly feels like an outer body experience and that's how I earnestly felt reading Say the Word.

"Facing the world with a smile becomes the ultimate act of resilience."

This book is structured in two parts, then and now and I couldn't have appreciated it more. Yes it's only written from the heroine's POV but I was so glad for it. Having both the past and present made everything more understandable and worthwhile.
Lux Kincaid is seriously one of a kind. Yes she had past issues but it wasn't something it's inevitable to not to be able to relate to. Her heart is pure as it gets, despite her trials and tribulations. I admired her and hats off to Julie for making her character a believable one and inspiring too. Lux's strength, LOVE, understanding, caring, vulnerability, selflessness, bravery, feisty-ness, sacrifices - just everything about her was rapturous. Gosh, the way she sought after Vera, Mira and Roza, oh damn. That's just Lux for you. I loved Julie even more when Mrs. Patel was introduced - that woman was just something else but I loved her just the same. Not forgetting Fae and Simon - they were a breath of fresh air.

Now Jamie, oh my God. I cried and even still am (cos reviewing this, I'm reliving it) because my hearts breaking that much. What he went through was so unfair. It made me realize how in reality people live through cancer. Jamie's a force to be reckoned with!

"Don't dwell in the darkness, sis. Live in the light"

"..You give love deeply and freely without expecting a damn thing in return"

Sebastian Covington AKA Bash was an intense of a man. Even though you didn't get to read his side of things, you were still able to understand everything. I loved how you were able to see his understanding when things went down the hill. But he was great for Lux. I did dislike him in a few scenes but I couldn't make myself hate him. & yes, he was sexy. damn. His parents were just bastards. Seriously though, him and Lux were two lost souls finding each other.

"Blood isn't always thicker than water, Bash"

"Love and hate - they're two sides of the same coin"

This took me nearly a week to be able to vocalize in my head and express it but to be honest? How can you form words for something so indescribable?! To understand what I've felt within reading this book a week ago and still feeling it, then pick up the novel and read to your hearts content!!

"Don't get so caught up in chasing your dreams that you forget to live them."

Treacherous (Twisted Youth, #1) by Chloe Walsh

Treacherous (Carter Kids #1)Treacherous by Chloe Walsh
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"Hate is the closest thing to love"

So I started this book with nothing to go on with - like reading no reviews, no spoilers/expectations and not even being familiar with the author, just focused on the blurb, and I couldn't be more intrigued and fascinated. I found humor in the right parts, sorrow, drama, vulnerability, understanding, possessiveness, lust, Chemistry, similar pasts, friendships and love and yes, violence too! The book was just as Noah would say it, a "thorn in my side".

"Don't strive for normal, beautiful" .. "Reach for yourself" .. "The best part for reaching for you is that it's completely attainable because it's already inside of you" .. "You already have the key, beautiful. Find the lock inside of you it fits. And the best part of it all is you're the only one with a key, therefore no-one can take the best of you from you. It yours. For keeps."

Noah Messina and Teagan Connolly 's relationship was just one you never get bored of. The lines between hate and love became so thin, you don't realize how blurred the lines become. I enjoyed getting to know how they developed and when they finally acknowledged their feelings for one another as well as trying to right their lives, gosh, I admire them. The revelations of how they opened up to each other was goddamn overwhelming - (view spoiler), as well as how the book ended. Thank God for another book because by reading this, I knew there was more potential for them. Getting to know them in this book that's not even complete and they managed to be part of my heart, I can't imagine how they'd make me feel after. The secondary characters made it that much more engrossing too.

"Noah Messina, you are Treacherous."

"Teagan called me treacherous but she was the one who could shake the mountains."

This book was just so damn hard to put down and finding out there was a cliffhanger, I was torn between anticipation and unpatience. I actually cried during the last few chapters, everything that unraveled was just so unexpected and it definitely throws you off the loop. Yup, this became one of my favorites of this month. Chloe Walsh is amazing! The 2nd book already please. </["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]>

Smoldering (Smoldering, #1) by Tiffany Aleman

SmolderingSmoldering by Tiffany Aleman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"..Real love is more like the ocean. It knows no depths. It just keeps growing and growing. Sometimes it can be relentless and unforgiving like the waves crashing into each other, but eventually it will even out and become calm again. It will give and take just like the tide coming in and going out."

I'm seriously in awe of Tiffany Aleman after reading this book. She took me on a whirlwind of feelings. The book was filled with a roller-coaster of heartfelt emotions - love being the biggest, humor, joy, sadness, compassion, understanding, affinity and longing and amazing chemistry and bonds! Also whilst reading the book I realized the main character (Hero) was actually part of the army, which I seriously didn't expect but the surprise just made it so much better.
Reading this book I felt like I actually understood the possibility of losing someone without any control of the situation. I couldn't help but be blubbering mess for the reality of the book, the characters and questioning how people do it and acknowledging the responsibilities people carry.

"We found each other."

Now, both the main characters Kelsey Connor and Riley Jackson I loved getting to know. From the beginning Kelsey just captivated me and how she was treated was so unfair. I just wanted to reach out and comfort her! Thanks to her best friend though, she came out the other side stronger and better. Hats off to her for earning her independence. Now welcome Handsome and amazing Riley and damn, he was hot!! I loved him from the start and then as the story developed I loved him even more. His dirty mouth was mouth-watering too. Both together were definitely one whole. It was amazing to see the development of their bond together.

"He's saving me and doesn't even know it"

***
"This sweet cunt is mine." He groans out, slapping my ass, "to worship, to fuck, to do with whatever I please. Do you understand?"..

***
"Just from his touch, my body smolders with lust. Just from his voice, my body burns with need. Just one look from him and my body blazes with a fervor I've never known before."

There was a part in the book where I hated both their stubbornness but that's just the way it is. I was in wonderment to be honest with their relationship everything there was, yes including the sad moments too and my, I loved the secondary characters just as much, especially Gus, the charming old gentleman.

"Make him earn you."

Definitely a best read so far this month and out of most the army/military books I'd read, this one is by far the book that's gonna remain close to my heart for a long time, I'm still trying to comprehend it! Gaaaaaah, I just loved it. The emotions I felt was overpowering as I've said before, in a good way. I hadn't cried whilst reading a book in a while so this will remain in my heart. If you haven't read this, what you waiting for??

"Your heart is the purest of hearts. Your spirit shines like a beacon does for ships coming in from the sea. Your smile captivates me. Your soul consumes me.I am under your spell and I never want to be cured."
